INJURY OVERVIEW
Most of the injuries I ‘collected’ before I was 25 years old are listed below.
This injury list is NOT claiming I’m unique or ‘hard-done-by’ -
it’s more about showing that “Self-Physi-Chiro” has a wide ‘base’
upon which I self-tested SPC before writing about it here.
MULTIPLE HEAD TRAUMA
Undoubtably, the most significant single head-trauma incident
was the Cherry-Picker tipover.
After ‘swooshing’ through the air through an arc of about 5 metres (16/17ft),
I hit the ground fairly hard, with most of the impact being spread evenishly
along the left side of my fairly straight body, but then the left side of my skull
was very quickly ‘flicked’ onto the ground.
The school chair incident with the simultaneous
forward-blow to the back of the skull (occiput area) by a chair back-bar,
at the same time as the table’s ‘upper-cut’ to the underside of my jaw,
certainly made me see stars.
Top teeth into tree-hut trapdoor handle,
along with flying softball bat and stillitoe heel to the head
were by comparison less traumatic at the time they occurred,
but did result in lingering and separately identifable skull injuries.
SEVERE WHIPLASH
Undoubtably the Cherry-Picker tipover
caused significant whiplash in its own right.
My work colleague who witnessed the accident,
said my (longish) hair looked like a dry-mop being flicked -
first when my head flicked into the ground,
then again when my head ‘bounced’ off the ground
as I was ‘ejected’ out of the ‘safety cage’.
Crash-tackled while kicking a rugby ball
and being stapled over my surfboard
are two other incidents where whiplash probably also occurred.
SHOULDER INJURIES
The ‘rugby-tackling’ right shoulder and
a head-high tackle that all but ‘popped’ my left clavicle,
along with the left shoulder impact of the Cherry-Picker tipover,
all created shoulder issues that at various times,
eg making it very difficult to use my arms above my shoulders.
PROBABLE AT-BIRTH SUBLUXATION/S
Given my ‘difficult birthing’ and immediate subsequent ‘unwellness’,
I’m will to accept possible high-neck (C1&2 especially) subluxation
occurred during this process of coming into the world.
This possibility becomes more of a probability for me
when I consider the recurring ‘tennis elbow’ problems early in my life,
along with what were probably frequent headaches/migraines.
24/7 HEADACHES
Looking at all the above, I believe I have had (and still do) a 24/7 headache
at least since 14 years old from the school chair incident,
compounded by the Cherry-Picker tipover ten years later,
and also reasonably probable - in various forms - since birth.
SPINAL ‘MODIFICATIONS’
Many of the events listed on the Incidents Page have at least a moderate chance
of causing long term ‘modification’ of my spine.
Looking at a few of the major ones -
the Cherry-Picker is very obvious in respect to the entire spine,
‘flicked mop-head’, left shoulder ‘ramming’ into the C7/T1 tranisition zone,
left lower arm forced into T11 to L3 zone, left hip ‘jolted’ across L5/S1 join;
being ‘stapled’ over the surfboard had major impact on
myleft ribs 11/12, along with severe impact on the T12/L1 transition zone;
school chair and table trapping my head between chair back and table top,
while my falling body weight ‘stretched’ my neck in a backwards direction.
HIP/SACRAL AND LUMBAR IMPACTS
Bike, skating, crash-tackled incidents
along with Cherry-Picker and ‘surf-stapled’.
